Arena Specifications & Technical Guidelines
Official technical scrutiny rules, bulletproof arena engineering specs, radio fail-safe protocols, and pit facility access for all participating teams at Shetty Institute of Technology.
Robotics Arena Architecture
Engineered inside Shetty Institute of Technology to the highest safety standards in collegiate combat robotics.
Ballistic Lexan Enclosure
12mm dual-layered bulletproof polycarbonate walls designed to withstand 200+ Joule kinetic shrapnel impacts.
Technical Parameters
Full BlueprintSpacious combat floor engineered to allow 360-degree high-speed maneuvering and aerial projectile dampening.
Bulletproof Lexan polycarbonate walls with 100mm air gap buffer and reinforced cold-rolled steel perimeter stanchions.
Heavy mild-steel interlocking plates anchored to concrete foundation for maximum magnetic & mechanical wheel traction.
Sub-floor high pressure pneumatic launcher triggers randomly every 45s; 2x motorized hazard discs running at 1500 RPM.
All rotating mass kinetic weapons are checked with a laser optical tachometer during pre-match safety scrutiny.
Zero analog FM/AM allowed. Automatic cut-off relay must kill motor and weapon power within 2.0s of signal cutoff.
All charging must strictly occur inside SIT Pit Lane fire-rated charging stations with class-D extinguishers on standby.
Strictly measured with calibrated digital multimeters during the technical inspection clearance step.
SIT Pit Lane & Fabrication Hangars
Heavy Fabrication Workbench
MIG/TIG welding units, bench grinders, angle cutters, and drill presses operated by SIT mechanical technicians.
High-Current Battery Charging Bank
Continuous 230V AC multi-point power strips with regulated smart balance chargers (1S to 6S LiPo).
Telemetry & Signal Check Station
Spectrum analyzers to identify 2.4GHz interference and ensure dedicated clean channels for all bot transmitters.
Weigh-in Precision Scales
Certified digital platform scale with 10g accuracy for strict scrutiny confirmation.
Robotics Scrutiny Checklist
- Fail-Safe Test: Radio transmitter signal loss must shut down both drive and weapon motors completely within 2.0 seconds.
- Weapon Lock & Shroud: All active spinning blades or drums must have a mechanical locking pin during transit.
- Removable Master Link: A dedicated external power disconnect switch accessible without opening the chassis.
- Certified Weight: Max 30.0 kg for Heavyweight and 15.0 kg for Featherweight (5% scale tolerance).
Hackathon Code Integrity
- Fresh Commits Only: All source code, API bindings, and database schemas must be committed after the official 11:00 AM kickoff.
- Open Source Permitted: Public packages, libraries, and open foundational AI models are fully allowed with attribution.
- Midway Mentor Milestones: Mandatory checkpoints at Hour 12 and Hour 24 to defend architecture and MVP viability.
- Working Demonstration: Final evaluation requires live deployment with genuine user interaction and pitch deck.
